What to put on an estimate
Your business and the client
Who the estimate is from and who it is for, with a way to reach each.
An estimate number
So you can match the client’s yes to the right quote, and the invoice to the estimate later.
How long the price holds
A valid until date protects you when material prices move.
The scope, line by line
Each part of the job with its quantity and price. Clear lines mean fewer questions and fewer disputes.
Taxes and total
Show each tax and the total the client should expect to pay.
Deposit and payment terms
Say what is due to start and when the rest is billed. In the Sumocat app you can set a deposit and milestones that each become an invoice.
Doing this every week?
Sumocat keeps your clients, saved prices and numbering, works offline, and turns the math on its calculator into the document. Free on iPhone.

What is the difference between an estimate and an invoice?
An estimate is the price you propose before the work. An invoice asks for payment for work agreed or done. Many businesses send an estimate first, then turn it into an invoice.
Can my client accept the estimate online?
Not from this PDF. In the Sumocat app, with Sumocat Pro, your client opens a link and taps Accept, and the first invoice is created for them.
Is it free?
Yes. No sign up and no watermark. Your draft stays in your browser and nothing is saved on our servers.
Add it up. Send the invoice.
Sumocat is free on iPhone, with no account needed to start.
